| Question Can I restrict or control the Internet content my family sees? Answer You can set up your computer to control access to inappropriate Internet content. If you're using Internet Explorer as your browser, this can be accomplished by using its Content Advisor feature. To adjust Content Advisor's settings, please follow these instructions: - From the Windows Start menu, choose Control Panel.
- Double-click the Internet Options panel.
- Click the Content tab.
- In the Content Advisor area, click Enable. If you haven't selected a password, you'll be prompted to do so now.
- Type in your password.
- On the Ratings tab, click a category in the list, then adjust the slider to set its limits.
- Repeat this process for each category you want to adjust.
- Click Apply.
- Click OK.
Content Advisor also gives you the option to allow others to occasionally view unrated or restricted content. To allow others to occasionally view unrated content: - From the Windows Start menu, choose Control Panel.
- Double-click the Internet Options panel.
- Click the Content tab.
- Click Settings.
- Type in your password.
- Click the General tab.
- Check the box next to Users can see sites that have no rating.
- Click Apply.
- Click OK.

- Type in your password.
- Click the General tab.
- Check the box next to Supervisor can type a password to allow users to view restricted content.

Content Advisor uses very cautious rating standards when you first enable it. You can adjust these settings to match your own preferences. Not all Internet content is rated. If you choose to allow others to view unrated sites, some of those could contain inappropriate content. |
