Which NetZero access numbers have 56K capabilities? All NetZero Web access numbers are capable of 56K connections. If you are having trouble connecting at 56K with your modem, it may be that your modem uses a different 56K protocol from the one used by the modem answering at our access number. There are four main protocols for 56K: v.90, x2, k56-flex (k56-flex support connections from both v.90 and x2) and v.92. When incompatible modems try to connect to each other, they lower their speeds until they find one speed where the protocols are similar and communication can be established. If you are not reaching a 56K connection with your current access number, try using a different access number.
