Creating Additional Email Accounts - Mac Mail - Open Mac Mail
- From the Mail menu, select Preferences.
- Click the Add Account button.
- In the Account Information tab, fill in the following:
- Account Type: Select the drop-down menu and choose POP.
- Description: Type in a description, such as NetZero Mail - Bob.
- Email Address: Enter your full NetZero email address (such as memberid@netzero.com)
- Full Name: Type the full name you would like email recipients to see you as.
- Incoming Mail Server: Type pop.netzero.com
- User Name: Enter your email address minus the @netzero.com (such as memberid)
- Password: Fill in your password.
- Outgoing Mail Server: You will need to set this to smtp.netzero.com. Select the drop-down menu and choose Add Server...
- In the Outgoing Mail Server box, type smtp.netzero.com
NOTE: You must be logged on to NetZero in order to successfully send NetZero mail. - Click OK in the SMTP Server Options screen.
- Click OK in the Account information screen.
- Your new mail account will now appear on the Accounts screen. Close the Preferences window by clicking the red circle in the upper-left corner of the window.
You should now create a new mailbox for the new account's mail to get sorted to. - Type a name for your new mailbox and click OK.
- From the Mailbox menu, choose New Mailbox.
Next, you should create a rule to transfer mail to the new mailbox upon arrival. - From the Mail menu, select Preferences...
- Select the Rules icon.
- Click Add Rule.
- Under Description, give your rule a name (such as "Bob's Mail")
- Click the drop-down menu that says From: and change it to say Account.
- In the drop-down menu to the right of Account, select your newly-created NetZero account.
- Under Perform the following actions: click the drop-down menus so the action says Transfer message.
- In the to mailbox: drop-down menu, select your newly-created mailbox.
- Click OK.
- Close the Rules menu.
Any future messages from your new account will now be sorted to your new mailbox. Note: Because of limits placed on your mailbox, you must complete the following steps to prevent your mail from being blocked or deleted.- From the Tools menu, select Accounts.
- Select the Mail tab and click on pop.netzero.com
- Click on Properties and select Advanced.
- Under the Deliver section, ensure that the Leave a copy of messages on server box is unchecked.
- Click OK to save.
