Common ZeroPort Errors / Solutions

Error 14, 15, 16: Your copy of the NetZero software has been corrupted. You must reinstall the software in order to correct this problem.

If you are receiving Errors 14, 15 or 16, please follow the steps below to resolve your problem.

Search for NetZeroSetup.exe or NetZeroHSSetup.exe
Uninstall and Reinstall NetZero or NetZero HiSpeed


Search for NetZeroSetup.exe or NetZeroHSSetup.exe

  1. Click the Windows Start button, point to Find and select Files or Folders.
  2. Search for All files and folders.
  3. Under All or part of the file name, type: NetZeroInstaller.
  4. Ensure the Look In field shows My Computer.
  5. Click Find now.
  6. Open the NetZeroInstaller folder and locate NetZeroSetup.exe or NetZeroHSSetup.exe .
  7. Double-click on one of the files.
  8. Try connecting to NetZero or NetZero HiSpeed.

Uninstall and Reinstall NetZero or NetZero HiSpeed
Important! Before uninstalling the NetZero or NetZero HiSpeed software, please ensure that you have a copy of the software to reinstall, either on CD or the downloaded NetZeroSetup.exe or NetZeroHSSetup.exe file.

  • Follow all of the instructions to uninstall and reinstall NetZero HiSpeed.
  • If you have the latest version of the NetZero software, skip to Step B.
  • Complete Step A first if you do not have the latest version of the NetZero software.

Step A. Download NetZero or NetZero HiSpeed

  1. Download a new copy of the NetZero or NetZero HiSpeed software by clicking here.
  2. Click the appropriate Download Now link.
  3. Choose the option to Save the incoming file. You will be asked to choose a directory. From the Save in drop-down menu, select Desktop so that the download file will be easy to locate.
  4. Once the download is complete, disconnect from NetZero or NetZero HiSpeed.

Step B. Uninstall your current version of NetZero or NetZero HiSpeed
Note: You may want to write down your NetZero or NetZero HiSpeed Member ID and password - you will need it to log on to NetZero or NetZero HiSpeed again.

  1. Click on the Windows Start button, point to Settings and select Control Panel.
  2. Double-click on the Add/Remove Programs icon.
  3. Click once on NetZero to highlight it and click on the Add/Remove button.
  4. Click OK to confirm the file deletion.
  5. Close any open windows and reboot your computer.

Step C. Install the latest version of NetZero or NetZero HiSpeed

  1. Double-click on the NetZeroSetup.exe or NetZeroHSSetup.exe file you downloaded earlier, which should be on your Desktop if you saved it there. If you can't find the NetZeroSetup.exe or NetZeroHSSetup.exe file, follow the steps in Appendix A below.
  2. Follow the on-screen installation instructions.
  3. Your NetZero or NetZero HiSpeed upgrade is now complete.

Appendix A

Follow these steps to locate the NetZeroSetup.exe or NetZeroHSSetup.exe file.
  1. Click the Windows Start button, point to Find and select Files or Folders.
  2. In the All or part of the file name field, type: NetZeroSetup.exe or NetZeroHSSetup.exe .
  3. Ensure that the Look in field indicates My Computer.
  4. Click on the Find now button.
  5. When you see the NetZeroSetup.exe or NetZeroHSSetup.exe file, double-click on it. This will start the installation process. Please follow the instructions on screen to ensure that NetZero or NetZero HiSpeed is installed correctly.
  6. Once the new installation has been completed, double-click the NetZero or NetZero HiSpeed icon on the desktop to connect.
