    > Device info for the MiFi® 5580/500

    The MiFi® 5580/500 LTE is a completely mobile wireless modem and local “hotspot” that provides an Internet connection anywhere you get a signal.

    It works like a cell phone with a built-in wireless router: A wireless signal is broadcast by towers all around the country, which are received by the MiFi® 5580/500 LTE. You can access LTE networks for faster connectivity, uploads and downloads.

    Connect up to 10 Wi-Fi enabled devices and one tethered via USB to the Internet at once – laptops, tablets, e-readers, gaming consoles can connect at faster speeds using LTE technology. You don’t need any wires, phone lines, satellite dishes, modems, or other wireless routers. Just turn it on and you can surf anywhere you receive a signal. The MiFi® 5580/500 LTE is backwards compatible to 3G networks, ensuring reliable connectivity when you need it most.

    > I didn’t receive my new device?

    If you have not received your new device, please call us at 1-800-939-8647, and select option 2 to check your account status.
    > Why did I receive this device?

    You received this device because we have upgraded our network service and in order for you to access your new service, we sent you a MiFi® 5580/500 mobile hotspot free of charge.
    > I didn’t order this device, will I be charged?

    No, you will not be charged. You received this device because we have upgraded our network service and in order for you to access your new service, we sent you a MiFi® 5580/500 mobile hotspot free of charge.
    > How do I activate the device?

    To set up your device, please complete the following steps:

    1. Unpack your MiFi® 5580/500 LTE.
    2. Insert the battery in to the MiFi® 5580/500 LTE.
    3. Your MiFi® 5580/500 LTE may arrive fully charged and ready to go. If not, just plug it into an electrical outlet using the wall charger to recharge the battery (you can also recharge the battery by using your computer’s USB port, although this will take longer).
    4. Turn on the device by pressing and holding the Power button until the screen lights up.
    5. After the power up sequence Press OK to select Menu and display the Menu screen.
    6. Use the navigation buttons to scroll to the Wi-Fi option and press OK to select More and display the Wi-Fi screen.
    7. Press OK to select More and display your Wi-Fi name and password.
    8. If you’re using a computer, open the list of available networks to find the MiFi® 5580/500 LTE (if you’re using a different Wi-Fi enabled device, consult the user’s manual for instructions on connecting to a wireless network).
    9. Select the NetZero network (SSID,) and enter the password key information to connect to the MiFi® 5580/500 LTE.

    > I have a USB Stick, how do I use this new HotSpot?

    The MiFi 5580/500® LTE is a completely mobile wireless modem and local “hotspot” that provides an Internet connection anywhere you get a signal. It also allows you to connect up to 10 wireless devices.

    To activate it, make sure every other network device (i.e. LAN Ethernet cable) has been disconnected and the USB Stick has been unplugged, then simply complete the following steps:
    1. Unpack your MiFi 5580/500® LTE.
    2. Insert the battery in to the MiFi 5580/500® LTE.
    3. Your MiFi 5580/500® LTE may arrive fully charged and ready to go. If not, just plug it into an electrical outlet using the wall charger to recharge the battery (you can also recharge the battery by using your computer’s USB port, although this will take longer).
    4. Plug your device into your computer using the USB cable, in the same location you would plug in the USB Stick.
    5. Turn on the device by pressing and holding the Power button until the screen lights up.
    6. After the power up sequence, the device will automatically connect your computer to the MiFi 5580/500® LTE.

    > Can I use both devices?

    You cannot use both devices. Once you receive and activate your new device, you will be unable to use your old device. We have upgraded our network service and to help you get the most of your new service, you will need to use the MiFi® 5580/500 mobile hotspots. Your old device will become obsolete as of November 6th, 2015.
    > Until when can I continue to use my old device?

    You will be able to use your old device until November 6th, 2015.
    > How do I get more data?

    NetZero members receive a specified amount of data each month based on their service plan subscription. If you consume and run out of your data allotment for the current billing period, you have the following options:

    1. Wait for the next monthly data allotment to be credited. Your monthly data allotment will be credited when your next billing period begins. For example, if your billing date is on January 5, the monthly data will be credited to your account every 5th of the month. There are also other options available if you would like to use the service before the next billing period begins.

    2. Top-up Data. A data top-up can be used within 15 minutes of purchase and is valid for 30 days. You can purchase additional data increments depending on your service plan subscription. Click here to log in to your Account page and view available top-up options.

    3. Upgrade monthly service plan. Upgrading your monthly service plan will provide you with additional data within 15 minutes of the order. Your account will be credited the additional data amount for the remainder of the current billing period. When the next billing period begins, your account will be credited with the data amount for the upgraded service plan.     > Will my plan and data allotment remain the same?

    Your plan cost will remain the same. If there is any change in your data allotment, you will receive notice of this change the first time to you log in.
    > Will my monthly bill change?

    The cost of your monthly plan will remain the same, unless you upgrade or downgrade your plan.
    > When will I get my free data?

    If you were gifted free data, you will receive your data as soon as you activate your device. It will expire within 30 days of activation.
