Fixing problems with Internet Explorer Below is a list of steps to fix Internet Explorer. After you perform each troubleshooting procedure, please try connecting to the Web through NetZero. If you are still unable to connect, move on to the next procedure.
Delete the Temporary Internet Files and History in Internet Explorer 7.0 - Open Internet Explorer.
- From the Tools menu, select Internet Options.
- Select the General tab.
- Under Browsing history, click Delete.
- Click the Delete files button under Temporary Internet Files.
Note: Check the box Delete all offline content to delete the offline files saved on your system. - Click OK to confirm.
- Click the Delete history button under History.
- Click OK to confirm
- Click OK to exit.
Delete your temporary Internet files and History in Internet Explorer 6.x and 5.x - Open Internet Explorer.
- From the Tools menu, select Internet Options.
- Under the heading Temporary Internet Files, click the Delete Files button.
- Click Settings.
- In the pop-up box, click View Files.
- In the Temporary Internet Files window that appears, you will see a list of temporary files. Press Ctrl+A to highlight all of these files.
- Press the Delete key. Click Yes to delete the temporary files and close the window.
- Under the heading History, click the Clear History button.
- Click OK.
Repairing Internet Explorer If the above procedure did not resolve your problem and you are using Internet Explorer 5, try repairing Internet Explorer: - Click the Windows Start button, and click Settings and Control Panel.
- Double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon.
- Click the Install/Uninstall tab.
- Select Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 and Internet Tools from the list.
- Click Add/Remove
- In the box that appears, click Repair Internet Explorer.
- Click OK.
Set NetZero to be the default server for your Internet Explorer If neither of the above troubleshooting steps resolved your problem, try making sure that NetZero is set as the default server for your Internet Explorer. - Open Internet Explorer.
- From the Tools menu, select Internet Options.
- Select the Programs tab.
- Click Make Default button under Default web browser section to setup Internet Explorer as your default web browser.
- Check the box next to When Internet Explorer starts, prompt me if it's not the default web browser.
- Click OK.
Internet Explorer 6.x: - Open Internet Explorer.
- From the Tools menu, select Internet Options.
- Select the Programs tab.
- Check the box next to Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser.
- Click OK.
Internet Explorer 5.x: - Open Internet Explorer.
- Click the Connections tab.
- Make sure Always dial my default connection is selected.
- In the Dial-Up Settings box, select NetZero Web, then click Set Default.
- Click the LAN Settings button.
- Make sure the Use a Proxy Server setting is NOT selected.
- Click OK.
- Click the Advanced tab, then click Restore Defaults located on the lower right-hand side.
- Under the heading Browsing, clear the Show Friendly HTTP Error Messages check box.
- Click Apply and OK.
Internet Explorer 4: - Right-click the Internet Explorer icon on your desktop.
- Select Properties.
- Click the Connection tab.
- Make sure Always dial my default connection is selected.
- In the Dial-Up Settings box, select NetZero, then click Set Default.
- Click LAN Settings.
- Make sure the Use a Proxy Server setting is NOT selected.
- Click OK.
- Click Apply and OK.
